Since 1984 a small, dedicated group of students have quietly developed their ai-ki skills in a modest dojo.

Aikido was developed in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba last century after a lifelong quest researching the martial arts and also the inner workings of the mind and spirit of the human being. In that quest he also sought meaning with regard our relationship to the universe and existence and how to overcome violence without sacrificing our integrity by descending into retaliation. The practice of Aikido, whilst a superlative self defence method also expresses attributes of Yoga, Zen, Mind-Body connection and enhances life force or Ki. It also incorporates the essence of meditation in action. Regular practice delivers health benefits and mind calming effects which can be translated into daily life.(more)>>>
